Caplan Serendipity Prompt
Based on what you know about me, including the topics I ask about, what I've been reading, thinking through, or writing, figure out some patterns and interests that often appear in my work and curiosity. Then do the opposite of the obvious: recommend 5 things (articles, books, people, ideas, or fields) that sit outside my usual territory. These shouldn't be adjacent to my interests. They should be quite surprising detours that I'd be unlikely to stumble on myself unless I purposefully went hunting for surprise. For each thing you recommend, like an article, book, person, or idea, give me a sentence on what it is, as well as a sentence on why it might matter to me anyway. That could be a hidden connection, a useful contrast, or just a jolt of fresh perspective. Also give me a search I could do to find out or explore more in that direction. If you don't have much context on me yet, start by asking me 2-3 quick questions about what I've been reading or working on lately, then give me your 5 picks.
