Finding meaning, purpose, and truth through photography
We often spend a lifetime trying to find purpose and meaning in a chaotic world we have inherited from those who had roamed the globe before us. People say photography is about “capturing the moment”, yet, while that certainly holds true, there is more to photography than that.
Photography is a path of self-discovery. Each photo we take, each second we dedicate to practicing and mastering our craft, gets us closer to finding out who we truly are, the essence of our being.
Photography is free of pretension, social masks, and social pressure to fit in. Honest self-expression is at the heart of our craft, where each photo is a visual record of an experience and energy that we are naturally drawn to. These experiences have meaning for us; they speak to us; they are important enough for us to want to translate them into photographs, which we can cherish and share with others.
Daily practice is key, so is curiosity to seek and find, and then capture those beautiful details that often go unnoticed by others, yet they somehow catch our attention. As soon as photography becomes second nature and what once was perceived as luck becomes consistency with time built on years of experimenting and knowledge, our photographs, the visual records of our journey, will start to truly reflect an authentic image of us, an artist with a hunger for the truth, and the things that matter to us in life.

Each photo we take is another step into an unknown world that fascinates us, a world beyond the surface seen by only a few. Driven by curiosity, we keep returning and gradually immerse ourselves in this hidden world, wanting to experience more and capture it with our camera. Growth is an inevitable byproduct of this journey, as is coming to the conclusion that our perceived reality is heavily skewed, and each photo we take allows us to expand our limited perspective while tapping into the gift we all possess, our divine creativity.
This journey of self-discovery teaches us to embrace our newly found ability to define the outlines of a world that makes sense to us while peeling off the unessential layers of our universally accepted perceived reality and also embracing the authentic self within. Each visual gem we discover reassures us to keep pushing our preconceived boundaries. Thus, we keep growing and discovering new experiences that are valid for us, while eradicating the idea of limited potential one photo at a time.
Finding purpose and meaning, seeking the truth, rediscovering an authentic image of the self, and reconnecting with it through the daily practice of capturing photos and ultimately embracing honest self-expression each time we press the shutter button are all parts of our photography journey, an exciting ride we are unlikely to ever regret going on.
